If you want to connect to hotspots and/or use typical WiFi, use 2.4GHz. 5GHz is much, much less crowded but you won’t find 5GHz hotspots. 5GHz is typically used by professionals such as Wireless ISPs. Typical WiFi used by hotspots and your friends and family is 2.4GHz
